Tips to Overcome Self Doubt

The thought of public speaking used to make me weak in the knees. There was a time when I didn't think it would ever be something I voluntarily did. Yet, now I'm seeking out different locations to share my talk: Reduce Stress, Increase Capacity & Achieve More in Your Business. Tapping through my fears was a big part of what has gotten me to to this point of getting excited about giving talks!

We have two choices: let our fears and feelings of self doubt stop us OR doing the work to over come them! I promise you the latter option is so much more rewarding!

Experiencing feelings of self doubt is completely normal when you are faced with challenging situations. I think we can all relate to feeling uncertain at different points in our lives. However, getting to the root of the fear and doubt, and releasing it is 100% possible! In addition to tapping, here are some other tips for overcoming self-doubt:

Practice Self Compassion

Speak kindly to yourself. We all make mistakes. That is okay! We grow from those mistakes. We can mitigate self doubt by giving our self grace and love, regardless of the outcome.

Celebrate the Wins

We are often so focused on the next goal or achievement that we don't take the time to celebrate the wins. Reflect on your achievements, even the small ones!

Don't Compare Yourself to Others

Learning from others is one thing, but comparing yourself and tearing yourself down is another. Don't do it! We are all journey. Focus on your own path, tune in and listen to your inner guidance.

Be Mindful

Take time each day to check in with yourself. Ask yourself: How am I feeling? What am I thinking about. Begin to create an awareness between your thoughts and your feelings. When you have that awareness you can choose to refocus your attention on things that make you feel good!

Supportive Community

Surround yourself with people that build you up. You are the community you keep. Notice how those around you make you feel. Spend more time with those who remind you of just how awesome you are!

You Are Your Harshest Critic

Speak to yourself the way you would speak to your best friend. If that voice is getting loud and nasty, think about what you would say if it was a friend feeling the way that you are in that moment.

Journal

Write about how you feel. Doing so brings on a lot of clarity. It's also a great way to release intense emotions

Ask For Help

Talk to a friend, counselor, EFT practitioner - someone who can listen, hold space and help guide you back home to yourself. You have all the answers within. But, sometimes we need a little help accessing those answers. Professionals can help!
